Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the QuizPass application ("the App"), developed and operated by Ondřej Hlava ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using QuizPass on any platform (iOS or Android), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

QuizPass is an English vocabulary learning application that presents vocabulary quizzes before granting access to selected apps on your device. The App uses platform-specific controls:

• On iOS: Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks
• On Android: Usage Access API and accessibility services

The App is designed to help users build their English vocabulary naturally throughout the day.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using QuizPass, you confirm that you:

• Accept these Terms in full
• Are the owner or authorized user of the device on which the App is installed
• Understand that the App uses system-level controls to manage app access on your device

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use QuizPass on your personal devices, subject to these Terms and the applicable platform terms (Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions or Google Play Terms of Service).

4. App Shielding Feature

QuizPass shields selected apps until a vocabulary quiz is completed. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge that:

• You are voluntarily choosing to restrict your own access to selected apps
• The App requires your explicit authorization to use system-level controls
• You can disable shielding at any time through the App's settings or through your device's system settings
• We are not responsible for any inconvenience caused by app shielding, including inability to access apps in time-sensitive situations

5. Subscriptions and Payments

QuizPass offers optional paid subscriptions ("QuizPass Premium") that unlock additional features:

• Monthly Subscription: Billed monthly at the displayed price
• Yearly Subscription: Billed annually at the displayed price
• Lifetime Purchase: One-time payment for permanent access

All payments are processed through the respective app stores. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to the following:

• Payment is charged to your account (Apple ID or Google Play) at confirmation of purchase
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your account settings:
  • iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
  • Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions
• Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, is forfeited upon purchasing a subscription

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies.

6. Content Accuracy

QuizPass provides vocabulary words, definitions, translations, and example sentences for educational purposes. While we strive for accuracy:

• Some content is automatically generated and may contain inaccuracies
• Translations are provided as learning aids and may not capture all nuances of meaning
• We do not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of any vocabulary content
• We welcome error reports via our support email to help improve content quality

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App only for its intended purpose of vocabulary learning
• Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute the App
• Not use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Not circumvent the App's premium features or subscription requirements

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of QuizPass — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, and software — are owned by Ondřej Hlava and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

QuizPass is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• The vocabulary content will be completely accurate
• The App will be compatible with all devices or OS versions
• The app shielding will function perfectly in all circumstances

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ondřej Hlava shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access to apps, or any inconvenience arising from the use of QuizPass.

11. Termination

You may stop using QuizPass at any time by deleting the App from your device. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to the App at our discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or us.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic, without regard to conflict of law principles.

14. Platform Terms

These Terms supplement, and do not replace, the applicable platform terms:

• iOS: Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA)
• Android: Google Play Terms of Service and Developer Distribution Agreement

In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the platform-specific terms, the platform terms shall prevail.
